Three Low Maintenance Tips for Saving Online!

If you aren’t familiar with Shop Life™, know this: We love to shop, we love to give back to the community and we love to shop. Did we mention we love to shop? If you want to learn more about us, you can go here, but if you want to know how to save online in a major way… read on, gorgeous! We want you to enjoy the online shopping experience responsibly and fiscally, which means you can’t just spend carelessly online! We also want you to have time for other things in your life, shopping online isn’t everything…well, it’s close, but you need to get out more. That’s why we are sharing our three favorite low maintenance tips for saving online!

Follow Your Favorite Brands on Social Media

Don’t pretend like you’re not creeping about on Facebook and Instagram for hours trying to find out what your ex and their significant other are up to. Or watching endless cat videos instead of paying bills. Or… well you get the point. You already have screen time on social, make it worth your while! Following your favorite online brands on Facebook and Instagram are great ways to get exclusive online savings codes. Most smart companies who want their customers to shop online will give special offers to fans and followers to keep them loyal. Why not save money while creeping?

Sign up for Newsletters and e-Mail

This goes along with the above tip. You know as well as we do, that each time you go to a website to shop, a pop-up window appears wanting your email. Don’t ignore it! We know what you are thinking, “I already get soooo many emails!” It might be time to unsubscribe to the emails you just don’t care about.  Then, only sign up with companies you really like! Next, keep your emails organized. We like to use the category tabs in Gmail to keep our “promotional” emails separate from the important stuff. If you aren’t using that feature in Gmail, you should be, trust us.   By signing up for emails and newsletters, you will be the first to know about sales and special loyalty discounts!

Shop Online Using a “Private” or “Incognito” Browser

This might be our favorite tip. Did you know that most sites know if you have visited them before by using tracking cookies? They also keep track of what you click on. If you click on an item and leave the site, only to return later, some sites will raise the price. They must think in theory, if you are coming back, you must really want it and they are going to hike up the price. Grrrr!! Well, they don’t know who they’re dealing with! Beauty AND brains are no match for those shenanigans! Simply open up an incognito browser (in Chrome) or InPrivate session (in Microsoft Edge - formerly known as Internet Explorer). These settings allow you to browse under the radar! By doing this, you wouldn’t be leaving any tell-tale cookies behind at the end of a browsing session, and you would be undetectable when returning to a site you previously visited. They want to be tricky? Bring. It. We got you!!

We hope you can benefit from a few of our tips. If you are reading this far, we are guessing you might be a high level power shopper and could teach us a thing or two about saving online. Please share with us! We would love to hear what you do to keep your love of shopping in balance with your bank account! You share with us, then we share with… everyone! You might even get featured on our website, Facebook or Instagram if your tip is really amazing!
